Hi All, suspect this is going to be down to ignorance on my part but thought I'd ask here to confirm!

I bought a 2nd hand Acer Nitro gaming laptop. It does what I need fine but the original WDC 512GB SSD was a limitation so I bought and installed a 2nd 2TB from Kingston. All was fine until I started messing around with Microsoft Flight Simulator. I installed MSFS 2020 on the original WDC drive and all was fine. I tried MSFS 2024 but installed it on the 2nd Kingston SSD and it takes forever to load and performance isn't great. I've run a bench test and the Kingston is about half the speed of the original WDC. Screenshots below. Is this anything to do with BIOS configuration or anything else or is this just the way it is.

Thanks for any pointers.

Repeat the benchmarks using crystaldiskmark.
Post a screenshot.

SSDs are one of those things you really should read reviews of before buying. But given you could buy the fastest PCIe 4.0 SSD for $170 ($10 more with heatsink), how much did you save by buying the slowest one?
