Hi,
It's been a while that i've been in the hardware scene.
So basically i'm looking for some remarks and/or opinions for my setup...
First of all this machine primary target will be development, graphics design...
(ok, I admin perhaps some gaming now and then, but dual monitor support is far more important than 3D performance) .
Here we go...
AMD Athlon 1,2 GHz FSB266 Thunderbird
Asus A7V133 /Socket A VIA(R)KT133A Chipset
Dimm 512 MB SDRAM 133 Mhz
2 x Maxtor DiamondMax60PLUS-U100 30 GB - 9ms/2048K/7200RPM -U-ATA100
Matrox G450 Millenium 32MB DDR AGP - Dual Head -
Or should i go for a Asus A7M266 in combination with DDR MEM ?
I could buy a 60 gig drive which has a faster access time (8.7ms) and is even cheaper, but for some reason i feel more save with this setup.
I could also (depends on mobo) set up those 2 drives in Raid 0,but i've got the feeling this ide raid isn't really mature yet...
And a last question what's your opinion on getting a single Athlon vs a dual p3 ?
Although i think most of you will go for the athlon ;-)
Thanks,
Joachim
