Followed the advice given to me on another thread, I can no longer find.

All parts arrived, and now assembled. A few problems. The new system stalls a lot. It takes a long time for any application to start. Even on boot up it takes a while for the task bar to show up. Getting a lot of events "Metadata staging failed" Any ideas???

Another issue, Windows will not show my second disk. I put win 11 on the sata disk, and also on ssd. Windows sees the sata disk, it will allow me to boot from it, but does not show in the file manager. Could it be that it is a bootable disk?

Thanks for all of the advice from my previous thread.

Solution

And be sure you remove ALL the partitions on the drive including the hidden EFI, boot and recovery partitions. Just make sure what you are removing IS on the drive you are trying to remove it from. Also, don't forget to take the extra step required to actually make your actions go through when using the software. There are tons of online tutorials on using Paragon partition manager.
Sounds like your Windows installation is completely borked. I would start over using my clean install guide AND once you get to the point where the system wants to restart AFTER you've clicked "Next" on the "Custom" screen, remove the USB flash drive you are using to install Windows from, assuming you ARE using a USB flash drive to install Windows. Because if you aren't, you should be, unless you are using an optical disk like DVD or BD.

Also, as I emphasize MANY times during the tutorial, you want to disconnect ALL drives attached to the system except the target drive (Drive you are installing TO) and source drive (Drive you are installing FROM, which typically should be a USB flash drive these days)

And, it would be helpful if you would post your full hardware specifications here so I and others don't have to go try and find your other thread.

In case you should ever need to do a CLEAN install of Windows, this guide will help to ensure it gets done properly.

How to do a CLEAN installation of Windows 11, the RIGHT way

Next problem! System is on SSD, all is OK. I also have a SATA disk, that does not show up in file manager. The SATA disk also has Win 11 installed on it. I just want the space, but format does not see it either. It does appear in the device manager. How can I access this disk????
