New TH user seeking to invest money in 1 to 3 high-quality micro-USB cables

My phone and other accessories still use micro-USB, so I'm going to need micro-USB cables for the foreseeable future. I'm sick and tired of buying these junk cables from Walmart (the onn brand- it's terrible) for $12 every 4 months just for them to break again. I'd like to spend money on a robust micro-USB cable that will last multiple years, provided I treat it properly. I've heard of Anker, but they're off-limits- I don't want to support a company that lies about its security. Longer cables are preferred, but not over the structual build of the cable.

I don't have an exact budget because I don't know exactly how much I should expect to pay, and if I actually would be able to purchase such an item or not. That's part of why I'm asking! I probably wouldn't pay more than $50 for a single cable.

can't say i've ever had a cable stop working on me, even cheap ones i picked up.

recently i needed a couple new usb-c cables and ended up with one from anker for about $10 each. they tend to be the better options in most every case vs other brands. most every search for "best micro-usb cable" turns up list of anker models.

not sure what the concern is with cable security but i can't recall anker having any kind of issues along security lines. can you share what you are talking about? i'm rather curious as i have a number of their products all over my house (cables, batteries, wall units and even my car charger)

I'm not sure what micro-USB cables you're talking about. The onn brand ones from Walmart just randomly stop working every single time. I know it's not the ports because they work at first and then a few months later they don't.

i've got some i bought from stores like 5 and below or other such stores. 10 ft for $5, give or take. i have not used any of the Onn brand though, so they could be even cheaper junk than i've bought before :)

interesting article about their security cameras. i don't own any of them from any brand due to these same privacy concerns. but had not seen this piece about anker shenanigans. my suggestion if you won't buy from them, would be to search some "best of" type articles and see what other brands get suggested. i saw multiple other brands including some from amazon brand (though you could just as easily argue against for the same privacy concerns). like anything else though, it is most likely not worth $20+ for a cable. think i'd stay below $12 or so myself so you don't get into those ripoff brands like monster cables and the like.
