New to overclocking, need help! (Intel i7)

I'm a complete noob when it comes to overclocking CPUs. I bought my system a few years back, and it has an Intel i7 950. When I got it, it was overclocked to 4.0Ghz. Since then, I've had to reinstall Windows, and the overlocking was lost. I've looked around online, and the guides haven't been very good, could anyone give me some advice as to how to bring the clock speed back up to 4.0Ghz again?
