I bought this pc new in 2011. Hardly used it. Now I would like to convert it to a decent gaming pc for Warframe. I have never opened up a PC to see what's inside and so I'm intimidated.

It has the i3-2120 processor 3.3Hz (would like to keep) - Lenovo H420 motherboard - 8Gb RAM

From what I've read, the processor and ram are good enough to do what I want. I don't need to play at highest settings and 1080p.

The on board graphics (Intel HD 2000) are a joke and this is where i need help. I can play at lowest resolution and while playing the game in a tiny window at 40fps. Try to go fullscreen and it's unplayable due to extreme frame rate drop.

I've read the gtx 750ti is a good match for my setup but I want something a little better.

Looking into the Nvidia GTX1060 6Gb but i don't know how much my i3-2120 would hold it back or if it would even fit on my motherboard.

Also need to know if I would need to upgrade my psu to run the GTX 1060. I think mine is 280W from factory? I run rig 800lx wireless headset, razer ornata gaming keyboard, one led monitor and basic wireless mouse.

I've also seen people saying that my motherboard may not allow certain upgrades due to it being prebuilt.

I just want to spend $150ish which is why I'm keeping the i3-2120 and board for now. Any more upgrades and I would probably just build a whole new rig.

I'm lost.

I found no information on the power supply, and only know you use a Intel H61 Express chipset, Lenovo H420 is not the motherboard´s model name.
A system with a 1060 needs more power than 280W for sure. Also 10th gen Nvidia cards often require UEFI BIOS. Even the 750ti´s Minimum System Power Requirement is 300W.

Please remove the side panel and read the power supply information. Upgrade to a 450-550W power supply such as the Corsair CX 450or 550 and you can buy a used gtx 950 for $90-100.

Wow thanks for the info! The motherboard shows up as that on userbenchmark as well as in my system information. I saw several people recommending the 750ti simply because with this setup you can just slap it in and you're done. I thought that sounded too easy. So I will look at the power supply and go from there.

Would you recommend the 1060 for the i3-2120 though? I'm totally new to this. I'm trying to research it myself so as not to bother people but I'm confused!
