Approximate Purchase Date: end of the feb
Budget Range: 1000-1500
System Usage from Most to Least Important:
day to day tasks will be internet browsing/Office suites
future will want a DAW type computer since I'd like to dabble in music production (within next few months)
Are you buying a monitor: Yes - any advice would be greatly appreciated here. who knew you could OC a monitor @_@
Parts to Upgrade: heres what i started with PCPP...maybe i can trim the fat?

Do you need to buy OS: Yes - win 8.1
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: doesn't matter....one that doesnt have my CC info stolen would be nice lol
Location: City, State/Region, Country - silicon valley
Parts Preferences: quality parts that work very well
Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe???
Your Monitor Resolution: don't know....i'd like a 20" monitor at least....im coming from a dell pc from college so like around 04....id like dual monitors....but for now ill buy 1 and get the second one later
Additional Comments: having a quiet PC since my current PC is so loud is important. So rubber mounts/bottoms etc is attractive for me. Enough bays to have an SSD+HD combo.
I do want to somewhat "future" proof this system. so im open to get quality mobo/cpu/ram that will hold up over time
I'm a n00b to OCing but it seems I can handle a "mild" OC without the need for liquid cooling
With the need/want to have a future DAW system it seems id need 16 gb of ram
with the sound card..i do plan on hooking it up to a DAC/OPAMP to power my hi end headphones for my ghetto "audiophile" set up
a cool looking case with a pop in color would be nice...i like sleek modern look
from USB 3.0 is a must. i plan on jail breaking phones for fun...and transferring data generally so it'd nice to have one port in the front, if not 2 USB 3.0
i do want dual monitors....thats just cool...so i dunno if need a beefy graphics card to support that
Gaming wise i do plan on gaming....probably not FPS too much because I suck at kb/mouse (used to play awhile thats why i know)...and don't really feel like hooking up a controller to play since the UI would be different....
Id prolly play PC exclusive games taht you cant get on consoles...and with steam basically giving away games for free....i know i wont be able to resist buying some games
so i'd like to play today's games on high
future games on medium settings im fine with.
so besides day to day tasks....ill be mainly listening to music...hopefully create some tunes
any additional cables/6pin to 8pin....additional fans to keep my system quiet and cool....and with the future of adding a 2nd monitor (probably within next 3-4 months)
any sleeves for clean cable management since i'd like to see my components versus a mess of cables.
id like to try a mechanical keyboard...sounds nice...and this dell one i use is horrible and since i do plan on doing some gaming.....it would need to be geared towards that.....wired or wireless doesnt matter
feel free to change my system and to trim the fat so to speak. thanks.
so i definitely want to do this "right"....so any help with the potential build i posted would be great.
thanks for listening....sorry for babbling.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: comp im using is from 2004. super slow, cant handle anything modern from internet to PS to office etc
