Hello

I recently purchased a used RX 580 as an upgrade of my GTX 1050ti. I switched the cards around and the RX 580 was okay fans spun and image on screen. I updated the drivers and did a quick stress test on MSI afterburner. I then proceeded to load a game, just cause 4. The system black screened and hasn't display an image since not even on boot and gpu fans don't spin. I've tried reseating. I've updated bios which when I tried the gpu again the fans did spin. The old gtx gpu works fine, I haven't uninstalled thr NVIDIA drivers as yet. The PSU minimum is listed as 500W, mine is only 450W. Could it just need more power? Do I need to remove the nvidia drivers (if that was the case surely it would display boot screen??). Or could the card just be junk?

Any help appreciated.

Both are likely culprits. You have to do a full uninstall of drivers whenever you change cards. Also, it's good to have some spare power. Counting on the rest of the build, you might want to get a 550 or 600 watt PSU for extra headroom. Just don't cheap out on it. The PSU is one of few parts that can take any number of other parts with it if it fails.
