I am interested in buying a new video card, but am limited on my choices due to my power supply. I have a 430W power supply, and at the moment have a 5670 1GB DDR3 video card in there. It's given me some problems and BSOD a couple of times now, the card runs pretty hot and I just want a stable card for some moderate gaming. I was looking at the 6750 and the 6770 and both cards would be a big upgrade from what I have now, the only problem is my power supply situation, can a 430W PSU handle these cards? What other cards would be an upgrade from the 5670 without really going over $100 and that can run with the 430W PSU?

Also should I wait until Black Friday for card specials? I haven't ever really looked during Black Friday because I have never been in the need for a card during the holidays.

Thanks.

Which Thermaltake 430 Watt model?

TR2 W0070RUC
• +12V@29A
• one 6-pin PCIe power connector

TR2 W0069
• +12V@18A
• one 6-pin PCIe power connector

SMART SP-430P
• +12V@34A
• one (6+2)-pin PCIe power connector

Munich W0391RE
• +12V@34A
• one (6+2)-pin PCIe power connector

The last two models can power a system with a single Radeon HD 7850.

The second model isn't even worthy of being called a power supply.

Haha, I think it's the first one. But to be honest it might even be the second one. It's done it's work for the most part. But then again I have never had a video card that has really tested it's abilities. It really is time for an upgrade.

Honestly, at the time I didn't know much about systems, right now I feel pretty stupid for buying that power supply.
