Hello.

A couple of weeks ago, we upgraded our internet. We went from about 15/1,5 Mbps download/upload to 40/40 Mbps.

When I use the internet on my desktop there is no problem at all, because I use a powerline, so i'm not accesing the internet wirelessly.

When I use the wifi on my phone, it's quite unstable. The speed is a lot worse, usually around 20/30 down/up, which, to some point, is expected, when you go wireless.
The thing is, that there is a lot of random disconnects from the wifi. Suddenly, i'm not connected anymore. I've never had this problem on my computer.

The signal of the wifi is also pretty weak, so it's not accessiable for the rooms furthest away from the router.
The router is poorly placed, but the position can't be changed.

PC specifications:
Motherboard: Gigabyte AM3+ 78LMT-USB3
Power Supply: Corsair 600 Watts CX600 Gaming Power Supply
Operating system: Windows 8.1

Solution
Well...you already know why the WiFi is spotty. Too far away and bad placement of the router.

So either move the router, or add an Access Point closer to where you need it.
