Hey Yall, gotta a newbie here…. this is my first HTPC build, any advice would be appreciated
Silverstone Case LC18-V64 c/w touchscreen
ASUS P5E3 Premium WiFi-AP motherboard
Intel Q9450 processor
Silverstone #535-1151, 750W, PSU or Coolermaster RS850 EMBA, 850W
TC3G P4 Cooling fan
DDR3 C13-8052 Cosair 4GB
MSI NX7600 GT Diamond Plus ….HDMI GPU or Gigabyte GeForce 8800GTS
Samsung 1TB F1 Series Spinpoint, 7200rpm hardrive
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250…dual tuners
Pioneer BDC-S02 CD/DVD Blu-Ray Optical Drive
ASUS Xonar DX 7.1 sound card

Looking for a top shelf HTPC build for the play room…

If I were sitting down to build a HTPC, I'd probably assemble a similar list; looks pretty good. The only thing I might suggest is looking into the Radeon line of cards instead. Reasons: Most have HDMI already standard, and when it comes to video playback, most have been known to have snazzier features, even if only slightly more so.

Just my two cents.

My HTPC originally had a 7600GT, then I switched to 690G onboard and later HD3450. The ATI/AMD video looks better from my experience.
