If im not mistaken, the XTX is the master, and XT the slave, and of course you can OC. You said the deadline was March 21st? Its up to you which processor to get, they are both good. But you know the FX-60 is proven good, and we don't know about the 180. Im sure it'll be good, just speculating. Oh and Im glad you want to get into phase changing, great way to cool, but I don't know haw to set it up, couldn't be too complicated though...

It seems I always say that "it couldn't be too complicated" and then run into problems.....always works out that way...

Good. Whatever you do, DONT get a DFI board.

why may I ask should he not get a DFI board?
I have had 4 of them fail. The one I am using (2 days old) crapped out in more ways than one already.
The build quality is absolutely junk.

wow I am sorry to hear that........I have had my DFI board for a little over a year now and while it has been a challenge it has not had any malfunctions or anything......well ASUS has always been a favorite as well or there is the Epox board but I think he wants Crossfire....does Epox make a crossfire board?

DFI is just junk though, everything has already failed with this piece of sh1t. Refuses to load 2 sticks of ram, FDD is broken, IDE drives will not load up at all and stall the BIOS, voltage is off, and so I have to redo my whole system because my memory only works on this piece of junk...

your memory won't work on any other board?.....
Having BH5 is a bitch, let's put it that way. I paid 200 dollars for DDR500 2-2-2-5 speed, I can't get the necessary voltage (3.2v+) on anything else =/
It will work on other boards, but I don't know how else to maximize the power hunger of it =([/i]

Read the tomshardware review of it. 955EE gives FX60 a pounding in a lot of things like audio/video and multitasking. Also, it is a far better overclocker than the FX60. At stock however, I would have to agree with you unless you run 4 instances of anything =)

Did you know that HyperThreading hurts Intel's performance?
Did you know that HyperThreading is a hack to hide a flaw in the netburst architecture?

...And since you like to argue with me about the FX performance, then I hope this will convince you a lot more:

Hexus
Hothardware
Anandtech
Xbitlabs
Cnet
Extremetech
Firingsquad
Lostcircuits
Bjorn3d

Ohh, I forgot to post the more biased Tomshardware review of the FX-60:
Tom's(biased)hardware

Accroding to Tom's review, the 955EE fails miserably in multitasking.
The only test that the 955EE beats the FX is in Synthetic benchmarks like SiSoft Sandra and futuremark. (Well, maybe you're one of those few in the world that only runs synthetic sh!t on your computer  )

Now with all the facts on the table, please tell me where in the world is the FX-60 being owned by a crappy 955EE?

Besides higher performance, the new Presler core of the dual-core Intel CPUs can also boast very high overclocking potential. We managed to reach 4.26GHz clock speed on Pentium Extreme Edition 955 easily without any additional cooling involved. And the experiments carried out by some hardware enthusiasts proved that even 5.5GHz is not the maximum for the new Intel Pentium Extreme Edition 955 on the Presler core. So, you can speed it up quite tangibly by simply overclocking to higher frequency.

I looked at the super pi score of a presler at 4.5.....28.766. pretty damn fast. My fx60 at 3.0 is 28.133 with a stock cooler. Im at work so i cant post a pic right now, but let me know if you guys want proof.
