Hey folks. So I built my PC in late 2017 with an msi h110m pro-d motherboard with a bad cpu (g4400) and now I plan on upgrading it. My motherboard socket is LGA 1151 and on MSI's website ( https://es.msi.com/Motherboard/H110M-PRO-D/Specification ) it says that it "Supports 6th Gen Intel® Core™ i3/i5/i7 processors, and Intel® Pentium® and Celeron® processors for Socket LGA1151".
My question is: does that mean that I am limited to 6th generation CPUs? Because I have considered some 7th generation intel CPUs (eg. i5-7400) and there doesn't seem to be any incompatibility (given that the socket is the same, LGA1151), according to pcpartpicker at least. I know that pcpartpicker is only meant to be used as a reference, which is why I'd like some help over here.
Thanks in advance, guys.
