NewEgg.ca Stole my money.

So I ordered the last parts for my computer a total of $687 It has been on Hold payment declined for around 3 days on the second day I called them up and they said they received no money what so ever but when I called my bank they have proof newegg did take it I told Newegg the Transaction I.D and the Authorization number yet Newegg says they have no trace of it and arguing they have not gotten any money.

They have done this for the past 2 orders as well yet the funny thing is when we cancel the order we get the money refunded but I'm not too sure about this time I have been waiting about 6 months for my computer and I just might have to file a dispute with the bank which would take up to a month maybe 2, They keep doing this over and over again looks like I'll just have to order from another site..

Bottom line: Bank has proof Newegg took the money, Newegg says they don't have authorization to take the money.

That's very odd. I've never heard of something like that. I know I've had Visa hold up orders because of "unusual purchases" but never something like what you describe.

Sounds like a banking issue to me or a bug in the system. (then again I've had more banking problems than newegg ones 😛)

If you use a credit card, you can reverse the charges in a few days.

I don't use Visa but I have a Prepaid credit card, They did this before and after 3-5 days I got a refund so I'm going to wait and when I get the money back I'm going to order from TigerDirect..

Up to you, I've heard far worse things from tigerdirect than from newegg. Not to mention their selection in canada is terrible last time I used them a year ago.

Have you tried using paypal with them instead? I've used both paypal and a normal visa and never had an issue.

Either way, sorry to hear it's been so bad for you.

Been buying from newegg for more than 5 years now and I buy about 2000 $ a year.

Never got any problems with paying.
I did, refunds, RMA and never got any problem there.

I guess your pre paid credit card service is faulty / has problems. Might need a few days to get refund and such.

My prepaid credit card that I have with my bank is the biggest bank in all of Canada, I'm not really sure what to do but I guess I can try to use paypal this time -_-

The bank doesn't really matter, all banks will have problems.

I've had banks "lose" my cheques before and had to wait a week or so for them to "find" them. I think someone just entered in a wrong account or something, but of course no one would want to admit to that 😛

Since everyone started accepting paypal these past 1-2 years I pretty much only use paypal now.

Either way, hope it works out and you can get your parts soon!
