Newegg no more.

Do you believe Newegg lacks an appropiate level of support for its Canadian subsidary, Newegg.ca?

I now refuse to purchase from either Newegg.com or Newegg.ca

Their lack of stock on their Canadian subsidairy is dissapointing, and after several attempts, they refuse to change the siutation.

My last experience:
I was about 6 hours away from giving Newegg.ca $350 for a Acer B233HUbmidhz. They have it in stock. 10 minutes later (browsing other products), I see it's gone from ym shopping cart. A quick look, and it has been deactovated.
2048 x 1152, DVI, VGA, HDMI, USB hub, highly adjustable base, 23", every cable you could think of, etc.
It's deactivated.

Upon contacting Newegg live customer support, I was told that they have no stock, it's it's possible they may never restock it.
I check back to the American site, and it's still in stock. I ask the representative about this, and she simple says sorry about the difference. I ask if anything can be done... no.

This is not the first time this has happened to me.
I've given newegg plenty of my hard earned money so far, and I'm sure they make a $50-100 million a year from its Canadian site (assuming, since they gross about $2 billion a year).
Is it so hard to just ship it form the states? ost of their stock is in American warehouses anyways, so what makes it difficult?

I'm dissapointed with Newegg.com and Newegg.ca, and will no longer shop with them.

Wish I had a Microcenter or a Frys up here... Local prices are completely ridiculous, thus I'm forced to buy online.

Once i was ordering a PC for a client of mine, and they didn't process it because the billing address was not same as shipping address. I used the live customer support as well and talked to this a hole named Maverick, and he refused to make an exception. The thing was that the client wanted to pay with his credit card to collect stupid points and wouldn't let me order it. In the end I had to cancel the stupid order and order it myself.

One advantage with them is shipping time. I get their stuff the next day if ordered before 12pm Pacific. I had one glitch where one little item never got shipped from their warehouse and after i contacted their CS they issued a refund, and i got the item three days later. Too bad it was about $30 item.

I really would love to find an alternative and reliable source. I hate tigerdirect for their rebates on every f'in thing.

Any suggestions?

Thank you both for taking the time to express your experiences with us. I apologize that neither one were positive ones.

anamaniac: Due to certain product requirements and specifications in Canada, Newegg.ca is striving hard to provide the most comprehensive product lineup possible. Unfortunately, stock that is specific for our US site cannot be shipped to Canada and vise versa. I understand that the item was at time offered to Canada, but it sounds like something changed where we couldn’t offer it there. Please understand that if our system allowed us to accommodate you, there’d be nothing holding us back to do so since we would never intentionally cause you to be dissatisfied with our services.

gimeti: It sounds like something was lost in translation. We do not require the billing and shipping address to be the same, but our Payment Page explains that the Shipping address needs to be on file with the Credit Card Company. Being an online company, we take every step possible to ensure the safety of our customers. We also understand that this can be very inconvenient, to say the least, as in your situation. I invite you to contact me directly if a similar situation arises and I would be happy to see what I could do. Also, we have a Verification Department that supersedes Customer Service, so it was not up to Maverick to make the exception.

I posted the newegg.ca link when they came out on a forum I frequent and one of the canadians there was saying the same thing regarding not having as many options.

I've had great experiences from newegg. I know that if I order something it's usually going to be just 2-3 days to deliver... and if I need something fast, the +$20 for overnight in fact gets stuff to me overnight !
