Newer card, same type not working

So, I have a XPS 8300. I got a newer AMD radeon 5450 2Gb card. Currently, I have a AMD Radeon 5450 1Gb card. The 1Gb works fine. The 2Gb won't display any video. Either from it or from the mobo display. The 1 Gb and 2Gb card works in an older machine I have, and so I know everything on their own works, but not together.

Running Windows 7 Home. 64 bit. 8 Gig ram. Intel Core i7 2600.

I've updated the bios. I've pulled ram and reseated. I've uninstalled all drivers.

Whenever the 2Gb card is in, nothing displays. Thoughts?

My first thought is what do you need a second 5450 for? My second thought is don't you realize that the 5450 is far too slow to use 1gb vram much less 2gb vram?

My third thought is that 'testing' the cards means setting them up exactly the same. If you use HDMI output on one computer, you have to use the HDMI output with the other computer, and so on. If you test one way, with the computer that doesn't work, but then do something different like use a different monitor cable with the other computer, that's not a valid test.

It's possible the XPS bios won't see a 2gb 5450 for some reason.

Let me first say; I'm certainly not a computer expert.

I don't need both at all. I came into the 2Gb card and assumed it would work / perform better than the 1 Gb.
I know the 5450 isn't amazing, but it's whats here. I'm not trying to run GTAV in 4k ir anything insane.

I tested as you've suggested. Everything the same except the desktop computer. Same monitor, same cable. Both machines are sitting next to one another so I've been able to swap back and forth to see what works / what doesn't. All outputs on the 2Gb work on the older machine, nothing displays off the newer one.

If the XPS just won't see it thats fine. I find it strange since it can see the 1Gb 5450 but not the 2Gb.

Thanks.
