I have been using 2x2GB RAM running at 1066 MHz on my current mobo (Gigabyte G41-M). Recently I got Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB sticks of RAM for free and was wondering how to get this to work on my current mobo, if possible. According to the manufacturer, the G41-M only supports up to 8GB and 1333MHz OC, so I would only be able to use one stick, correct? I've done some reading on how mobos will tend to just underclock the RAM to a lower speed, but not always. I've tried the RAM and the system will not even turn on, and I cannot access the BIOS to tweak any timing to get it to work. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get this working. If not, I'll just save the sticks for a future build. Thanks.

They definitely won't work because the modules use high density ICs and the chipset only supports older low density modules that were limited to 4GB modules with 8 ICs on each side (16 total).

Okay. A bit disappointed, but thanks for the information. I'll use this in a future build then.
