I recently bought an Acer Nitro 5 with a RTX 3070 and Ryzen 9 5900HX. The problem is that it doesn't even perform as good as an MSI GL66 Pulse with RTX 3060 and i7-11800H. The MSI laptop gives 100+ FPS in games like Far Cry 4 and GTA 5 in max settings at 1080p whereas my Acer gives fps ranging from 50s to 70s at 1080p.

I have attached pics of stats displayed in Open Hardware Monitor when I ran Far Cry 4 for just 5 mins.

I will also post a link to the specs of the laptop.

Any kind of help will be really appreciated.

This also bothers me “16 GB of DDR4 system memory, upgradable to 32 GB using two soDIMM modules”

Does that mean it comes with 1x16gb? If it is single channel that’s really going to hurt performance.

I remember reading about some laptop maker putting in slow ram with ryzen.
what the speed on this laptop?
and the power on the cpu is low for this 5900hx. could be limiting to 35w
Thanks for your reply.

The speed of the ram? Task Manager shows the speed as 3200MHz.

How can I solve the CPU power problem? Does it indicate CPU throttling?

Yes, single channel RAM. I know it hurts performance, let's say if I add another 16gb stick, how much increase in FPS can I expect? 30 to 40 frames more?
