Hi there,

I have just built a computer for the first time and installed Windows 8.1, and I've come to notice that there's no Bluetooth category in the PC settings, and neither has Windows registered any Bluetooth device in Device Manager. I've found Bluetooth in the services list and set it to automatic, as well as download realtek drivers, but they've made no difference.

The wireless category in PC settings is also missing, and as such there's no option whether to turn WiFi on or off etc (though I can still connect to wireless through Networks)

I have a friend who has the same set up as I do, and he has Bluetooth connectivity as well as wireless.

I've tried so many different drivers and methods and am at a loss at what to do, please could anyone offer some help?

first off does your motherboard have blue tooth card or wifi card installed?? if it one of the asus cards with a combo card...start with the bios make sure under onboard devices both wifi and bluetooth are on. on the new build make sure the motherboard chipset driver was installed and then reboot. then make sure intel mei driver from the mb drivers page is downloaded. under network devices make sure the wifi and onboard lan port show up and turn the ports on that you want to use.

Thanks for your response, my Motherboard is an MSI B85M-G43 (http://goo.gl/Y4JlKh), I'm not massively tech savvy, but I also have a TP Link adaptor in one of the PCI slots (as well as a USB dongle in use sometimes).

I installed all the drivers and utilities that came on the disc with the motherboard right after installing windows. I'll double check the BIOS onboard devices and network devices asap
