newly built computer problems

So i built my new pc and came 2 problems:
1. My monitor wont recognize my computer( I have tried basically all the methods out there to somehow make it detect.)
2. Whenever i hold the power button to turn it off, only the fans stop spinning while the led lights on the motherboard still changes color

Specs:
Motherboard:asus 970 pro gaming/aura
CPU:AMD FD6300WMHKBOX FX-6300 6-Core Processor Black Edition
Ram:Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM
GPU: Gefore gtx 960

Please help

Do a very thorough check over your PC, making sure everything is securely connected and screwed in. Especially the CPU cord.

Hmm... Have you tried another monitor to make sure it's not a monitor problem?

Huh... Maybe you need to install drivers for that GTX 960... Try getting display from the motherboard, then install the drivers necessary.
