Connected mobo, target boot ssd, usb with disk image, psu, cpu and cpu cooler, and ram. All connectors have been double checked to ensure they are in the right spots and all parts were put into place carefully with anti-static measures taken. When power button is pressed, absolutely nothing happens. No fans turn on, no lights on the motherboard, nothing.
Part list:
Intel i5-6400
Raijintek Themis Black CPU cooler
Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H DDR3 mobo
PNY 240GB SSD
Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB RAM
Corsair CX550M PSU

Solution
Are you sure you have the power switch connected correctly? + and - not reversed?

If that's not the issue, do a quick test. Disconnect the power switch from the motherboard. Use your screwdriver to 'short' the two power pins by touching them both at the same time with the screwdriver. Post back what happens. Good luck!

Double check that your case's power/reset/led headers are plugged into the correct pins on the motherboard- often times these are a tad confusing so it's very possible you just connect them to the wrong spot. Also double check the power switch on the back of your PSU is in the on position, it might seem silly but I somehow forget this every time I do any sort of work to my computer and then have to crawl back under my desk to flip the switch back on after I've put the computer back and reconnected all the wires.

Silly me, I had the power switch plugged into the pwr_led switch. Thanks!

Great news! Glad you got it running. Enjoy!
