I've recently built a system for a friend running:

Windows 11
ASUS PRIME X670-P
AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
Gigabyte AERO 4070 OC
Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB (2x 16GB) DDR5 5600MHz C36
Cooler Master V850 SFX 850W
Samsung 1tb M.2
3 Fan AIO on the CPU
DOCP enabled
Latest BIOS installed

Periodically the system will do what im assuming is a "soft reboot" where it doesnt actually powercyle or anything (LEDS stay on no PSU click), the monitor will say simply go "DP Disconnected" (where the GPU disconnects i think) for a few seconds, then the windows logo with the spinning circle appears and shows the login screen as if the PC was restarted, all programs will start as per normal when logging in however anything that was open wont reopen.
I thought it could have been some kind of PSU issue as the system is running an SFX due to its form factor but the lack of it actually powercycling has me lost.

This error happens fairly often and Ive tried a few fixes online with nothing affecting it:
  • Disabled DOCP (was previously enabled)
  • Disabled Automatic Restart as per another forum post on here
  • Checked temps while under medium load (Nothing was out of order, cpu 56, Gpu 39)
  • Done a clean reinstall of GPU drivers with DDU
  • Disabled G-Sync/Adaptive sync in the monitor OSD
Any idea why this might be happening?

Solution
The max memory speed for your CPU is listed as DDR5-5200MHz. Is your RAM running at that speed?
Socket AM5 is still relatively new. A future BIOS/AGESA or chipset driver update for your motherboard may fix your problem.
Look in Reliability History./Monitor and Event Viewer for any error codes, warnings, or even informational events being captured just before or at the time of the "soft reboots".

Another thing to do is to power down, unplug, open the case.

Doublecheck all connections per the applcable component documentation.

Then carefully unplug and replug everything a few times: connectors, cards, jumpers, RAM, and case connections. Use a bright flashlight to look for signs of damage or debris.

No one want to force anything especially with a new build. So what feels tight and in place may not really be so.

Good chance that after a few disconnects and reconnects something will just go into place smoother and more firmly.

Follow the documenation instructions, take your time, be methodical.

Late note: manually download all drivers directly from the applicable manufacturer's website. Reinstall and reconfigure. No third party tools or installers.

Ah ok, with DOCP on the memory is clocked at 5600 MHZ. It runs slower with it off, 4800MHZ.
Is there anything bad about running it like that?
Also can I set the DOCP to 5200MHZ?

I've combed over the internals and made sure everything is in ok, reseated the GPU and RAM, im going to do a full fresh windows install to redo all the drivers, just to be safe as the PC is new theres nothing really of importance on it yet. Will update if that fixes it.
