Newly installed MSI GTX 950 beeps and slows start up, with B2 code, but appears to work fine

Hi everyone,
I'm running into an issue with my newly bought msi gtx 950, any help would be appreciated! Here are the details:

I'm using a 970a G45 mobo, with AMD quad core 3.66ghz processor, 550 W PSU, 2 X 4Gb Ripjaw 1333 ram. I've checked all compatibility issues, and as far as I can tell there should be no problems in that regard, but please let me know if I'm wrong.

After installing the card when I boot the PC it goes into a black screen with a B2 code at the bottom right, the pc then beeps 3 times with long pauses in between each beep, and then the error code disappears and windows starts up. The process takes around 2-4 minutes, before I installed the card bootup would be really fast as I have the OS on an SSD. I've checked in dxdiag and everything (memory, gpu) is being recognized there, and I'm able to play games (tested with Overwatch on high getting around 80fps). Once the frames dropped down to like 3 fps for a short time before going back up, not sure if this is related to the problem but thought I'd mention it.

Before this video card I had a really old HD5450 ATI or something like that installed, I removed all the drivers before installing the new card.

So I'm glad it appears to be working fine in game and all that... but the beeping worries me and I want to fix it if possible. Any help would be great, thanks!

Did you plug in the PCI-E power plug into the graphics card?

which power supply brand and model is it?

BIOS version up to date? version 2.8 is the latest

update with m-flash inside BIOS, not in windows

clear cmos by jumper (read manual how to)

for windows, uninstall the ati/amd driver with ddu uninstaller
nvidia drivers up to date? download from nvidia.com

Yes it uses a 6 pin which I plugged in. I don't have the model and brand off the top of my head.. I'll check when I get home and post. First I'll try the BIOS update you suggested.. I haven't performed an update like that for the BIOS so I'm hoping that's it.
BIOS Date: 11/22/11 18:39:07 Ver: 04.06.04 is what it's showing now lol....a little outdated maybe. I'm running windows 10 also fyi.
The Nvidia drivers are up to date, however I didn't use a ddu uninstaller for the AMD drivers, just uninstalled from device manager.
I will try those suggestions and check back when I'm done at work , thanks!

i'm having the same problem with a 750 OC edition, when i boot up my PC, it rapidly beeps, then 5 seconds later it boots fine, i'm thinking its a PSU problem, but i have the PCI-E power plugged in..

Ultra LSP 550W doesn´t seem to be a good one and could fail to start the PC.

please describe the beeps. how many beeps and long and/or short beeps?

whjich bios version is it?
which motherboard is it?

Hey guys, I got everything fixed. I replaced the power supply, but this wasn't the issue, I decided to change it because the Ultra LSP was not recommended and is known to blow up. What fixed my issue was the update to the Bios. I had to first remove the new graphics card as I wasn't able to get into the BIOS, once I switched back to the old card I went into bios and did the flash update as suggested, then c-mos reset. Then I threw in the new card and everything is working perfect ! Thanks for the help

i forgot the brand, but i think its a 350 watt sparkle power

and the beeps are extremely rapid and last for 5 seconds, the mobo is a GIGABYTE GA-G41MT-S2PT with bios version F2 that i modded myself to add in microcodes for an xeon CPU. i doubt that the microcodes are causing this, its been working fine for months.

and also, the beeps happen only sometimes, not all the time.

i think it's the graphics card error one, but, if there's an error, how come the PC boots fine 5 seconds later? is it a PSU problem? the GPU is an OC edition model, so it needs a PCI-E power cable which I installed. im thinking it's a PSU problem

wait, the gigabyte BIOS codes on that website were confusing to read, so i looked them up on a different website, the continuous short beeps im getting seems to be a power error, so it's a PSU error, i think it needs replacing, thanks for the help
