I have a pc that I bought off a local guy, new parts, old case. Runs fine, but id like to improve it. When I switched from my old gpu (AMD 5770) to the new one (gtx 970) I thought I would see a major upgrade in graphics. My frame rate is better, but no major improvement. So... am I exspecting too much? or do I need to replace one of the following?;

CPU- AMD A10-5800K APU AT 3.80-
RAM- 8 GIG DDR3
MB-GIGABYTE GA-F2A55M-
PSU- SEASONIC 700W
HDD- WESTERN DIGITAL 500G
WINDOWS 10-64 BIT
GPU-MSI NVIDIA GTX 970

mONITOR-HERES THE TURD I THINK- AOC 2250W
I think the monitor is the turd here, but if not, what is the best piece to replace?
THANKYOU

Solution
You're expecting too much of your CPU. It's not a great CPU. I would only recommend a 970 with an 8xxx series processor, nevermind a quad core APU.
You want to upgrade the APU or as you labeled it CPU and get something from the intel side, no fanboyism but you want to upgrade to at least a i5 of some kind, preferably Skylake. The APU is holding back the whole machine.
