When exactly are these new technologies becoming available? I may be building a new computer soon, and I'm wondering what exactly the benefits of these are, and why I should wait for them.

What's the 16x in PCI-Express mean?
What's so great about nForce4?
Why is PCI-Ex better than an equally priced AGP card?
When are they coming out?
Will motherboards supporting them be way more expensive?

They're supposed to be out new. Last summer I predicted mid-January to early February before they'd be available in sufficient quantity on the retail market. I then appologiesed to everyone for the mistake about a month ago. Yet it's starting to look like the apology was more off-base than the prediction!

Anyway, if you look hard enough you'll probably find a few early boards already.

Early Saturday morning, I actually found a website that said they had some for sale. But they had a little banner proclaiming "Only 4 left". They had 0 the night before, and they had jacked the price to nearly $350. I'm sorry. I'm just not going to play that game. I doubt I'll ever order from that retailer again. I could just see myself placing an order for 1 of the 4, and then going on back order for a $350 MB and them giving me a hard time trying to cancel it. I'd be surprised if they actually ever had any in the first place. No one else has them.

Selling above retail may get short term gains, but I would think overpricing limited quantity over retail would hurt long term profits. IMO
