NFS Most Wanted Graphic Problem

Hello, i have the exact same problem of this closed thread http://
My problem is that the file that needs to be edited is in .asi format and not in .ini (like the original person with this problem had) so, it can't be opened with notepad (i tried it).

so my question is if someone knows a workaround of this problem. thank you

Where did you download the game from? If the same as the referenced thread we can't help. That was pirated software and we do assist with that.

Tom's Hardware does not support any form of software piracy. None. Period.

It isn't pirated. It's an old game that belonged to my brother. It used to run fine in our old computer.

I did some search and i found out that this game cannot support modern resolutions or something like that. The same issue in that closed thread that i mentioned before. Sorry for the confusion

Understood. Just making sure we weren't trying to fix flawed (as much pirated software is) software. You should not need to edit any compiled files. Any configurable files would be in the form of *.ini files.

What source are you using to base your need to modify the *.asi file?

Thank you. Because that was the solution in that closed topic that i mentioned earlier where the problem is the same. The solution was to edit the "NFSMostWanted.WidescreenFix.ini" file in the scripts folder, but in mine scripts folder the file has a slightly different name "NFSMW2005_widescreen_fix.asi". I also have this file "nfsmw_res.ini" in that folder, that i tried editing some stuff (after backing it up) like HudFix and HudMode and ResX and ResY but with no sucess.
