So. I bought a TX401 from amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08D71PVXG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I install it into my Asus z490-plus motherboard. I had pre downloaded the drivers from the TP-link site. So I install those, blam done I hook up my ethernet cable and... no lights. The computer sees it. But it sees it not as a TX401 by TP-Link, but as either a Marvell or a Aquantia, it showed up like that the times I tried reseating it.

Anyone got any ideas? I checked the back of it, there is a sticker that says 3FA-2 001 If anyone knows what that might mean.

in which PCI-E port did you install the TP-LINK card? try a different one

update your motherboard´s BIOS using a USB pen drive, the downloaded and extracted BIOS file from ASUS and the option Q-flash within the BIOS
https://www.asus.com/us/motherboard...elpdesk_bios/?model2Name=TUF-GAMING-Z490-PLUS

update the Intel ME firmware of the chipset as well

try restarting windows (not shutdown)

the chipset of this TP-Link card is indeed "Marvell/Aquantia AQtion AQC107"
you can try using the Marcell driver:
https://www.marvell.com/content/dam/marvell/en/drivers/Marvell_AQtion_Win-64-bit_3.1.7.zip

No lights, may be a sign of a bad cable. Have you tried it with the cable that was included with the card ?
