5-35 temperature range seems bit restrictive
you cant play on cold climate, and you cant play it in middle of dessert

5-35C is a rather narrow temp range but that's fine.

5-35C is the exact same recommended operating temperature range that the 3DS has, as well as the PS Vita, PS4, and many other devices. If you're playing in much higher temperatures, a device could potentially overheat, and in freezing temperatures, condensation could build up on surfaces inside the unit and damage things. That goes for pretty much all electronics, unless they are specifically designed for operation in extreme environments. And chances are they'll still operate fine somewhat outside that range, but the manufacturers can't guarantee that there won't be damage depending on the exact nature of the conditions.
