No Admin account showing on Vista User Account screen

I have an old PC with Vista that I haven't used in years and need to get into it but forgot the password. I've seen several tips online saying to enter safe mode with cmd prompt, click on administrator account, and then type a few commands in to change your password. The problem is that once I get into safe mode the only options I have showing on the login screen are my user account and a guest account, no admin option. Any suggestions on how to get into this thing without having to reinstall Vista (which I can't do because I don't have a disc, plus I need some docs on the hard drive and don't want to wipe it). if you need data from it connect it to another pc by usb or as a second hard drive
