Good morning, my latest build has no audio. I installed the chipset drivers and the audio drivers directly from the motherboard page. I also tried installing them directly from Realtek's page. When I go to audio devices, I can assume they're working because I see all five of them (three in back and two in the front) except they say HD audio with regular Microsoft drivers. It never detects the Realtek drivers; therefore, audio is still not working. It gives me the audio icon with the "X" on it.

Solution
Does it work in Windows Safemode?
After reading this thread, I would conclude with Mandark above.
It shouldn't have this many problems.
Good news is that you can replace any Sound with a sound card that will just plug in, from Cheap to expensive!

And not to insult your intelligence, I am just troubleshooting, the download was from win7 category? I see the default is win10.
Haha, no worries, yes, I chose the Windows 7 download. Audio is enabled in the BIOS as well. I can't enable it from device manager because the only thing I see are five "HD audio devices" which I assume are the five ports. Yet, they use the standard Microsoft drivers. I never see Realtek pop up in there

Try this:
  1. Hold the Windows Key and Press R. Type devmgmt.msc and Click OK.
  2. From the top toolbar, click Action, and choose Add legacy hardware from the dropdown menu.
  3. Follow the wizard to add the Sound, video and game controllers category, as well as the Realtek High Definition Audio Device.
  4. When you’re done with this, you will see the Realtek Audio Device in the Device Manager.
  5. if it works then update the driver to most recent.

Still nothing. Installed it like that and it says failed to start "code 10". I am about to give up on this headache and buy a usb audio :/

Realtek is a major pain with windows 10. All I ever used to get were crackles and hisses and electronic cross talk so I did what you suggested and got USB audio devices. Schiit makes great DAC and Amps. I will never use on board audio or an audio card again

If older drivers do not work and it’s not showing up in device manager even with the show hidden devices turned on then the hardware has probably failed on your motherboard

All five inputs do show up in device manager-except they show with the standard "HD Audio Device Microsoft Driver." So, they never work with that driver.
