I have a Windows 7 32 bIT Dell Optiflex 745 desktop computer that suddenly started to mute itself during Webex or Zoom calls.
Two weeks ago after a major power failure of long duration, the hard drive would not start.
I had it repaired by a competent technician who said it was the "power chord".
When I got the computer home, everything worked but the audio, not only on Zoom or Webex but on You Tube or anything else that requires sound.
I went into Control Panel, then Sound and found the speakers "not connected" even though all the connecting wires proved tight and working.
On the task bar, the speakers came up as "mix" which I have never seen before and I could do nothing to remove it.
Has anyone had this problem before and if so, how did you fix it?
