Motherboard - b450 aorus m
OS - arch
bootloader - grub

I was contemplating upgrading my bios to fix CPU vulnerabilities.
This wouldn't be my first time performing a firmware update.
I downloaded the update and extracted it to a usb drive which was previously formatted to ext4.
I go into bios, flashing tool, and it appears to not recognize that device. What appeared was an "Unknown device" with a folder called grub that contains some subfolders.

I decide to review my settings since it's been a while I went into the bios. I enable Above 4G decoding and Re-size BAR support. After saving and exiting there isn't a single recognized bootable device.

After formatting the drive to FAT32 on a windows machine (because gparted wasn't letting me do it) it's recognized and the upgrade was smooth.

Important update: it looks like changing anything in the bios has the effect of not being able to recognize my bootables.
I guess this means I'm sticking to the defaults...
