Hi, i have an problem with my friends computer, an acer ES1-512. whenever i start it i get the error "no bootable device". i've checked the bios and can't find it there either. i've also also taken the hard drive out of the computer and put it back in again, but with no luck. so i tried to connect the drive to my own desktop computer to see if it would appear in windows, but it didn't. on the other hand it was "vibrating" and making the usual hard drive noises, so im not sure if it's dead.
Any ideas?

Hi there Tusseladd,

Unfortunately, as the drive is not recognized even by BIOS, you will not be able to access it with software tools.
In that case, you can:
- RMA the drive if under warranty.
- Contact a data recovery company in case the data stored on the drive is crucial.
