No Bootable Device

Hi,

I got an Acer Aspire with Windows 10 about a week ago and I am having some issues when the laptop comes out of sleep mode. Whenever I get the computer out of sleep mode, the screen just says "No Bootable Device Available" and if I pressed any key, it would bring me to another screen that would say "Choose device from this list". The only option that would appear is Windows Boot Manager and if I press that, it says that it cannot be used and goes back to the screen with the list.

I also have two external drives connected to my laptop and I think I connected them while firing up the computer for the first time a week ago. I experimented with these external drives and found that if I disconnected both drives from my laptop before getting the computer out of sleep mode, the computer would act normally without the "No Bootable Device Available" screen appearing.

I read some other posts in other forums stating that the hard drive order may be incorrect. I did go into BIOS and checked the order and found that the #1 item was Windows Boot Manager and #2 was my laptop's internal hard drive. I'm not sure what else to do and would greatly appreciate any help as I do not want to have to disconnect both hard drives every time I want to get my computer out of sleep mode and then plug them back in.

Thank you for your time,

Restart the computer.
Press the F2 key to enter computer's BIOS Setup during Power-On Self-Test, or POST, process while the Acer logo is being displayed.
Press the Right Arrow key to select Main.
Select F12 Boot Menu.
Press the Enter key.

In this list, move internal HDD to the top with arrow keys: http://www.vodusoft.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/boot-menu.jpg
Disable "boot from external device" if possible.
Exit, saving changes

Hi Cilliers,

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I just wanted to clarify if I should put the internal HDD even higher on the list than the Windows Boot Manager.

Thank you for your time,
