No click on Windows 8.1 Lenovo Laptop?

I have been dealing with a problem with my laptop, I can't left click or right click but everything else works. I have uninstalled some programs which were taking up space, although I do have a huge amount of files in the recycle bin. It would be extremely appreciated if anyone could help.

Is it the touchpad on the laptop that's not working? Have you inadvertently disabled it? Trying searching for touchpad in Windows and having a look at the settings there to see if there's anything obvious
