Hi there,
My motherboard has no cpu mounting holes. It’s a socket p motherboard from Asus (Asus IMISR-VM). I’ll be using a penryn core 2 duo cpu at standard clock speeds for basic web browsing and word processing via Linux, running 4 GB of Ram. Will I need a cpu cooler at all? If so how can I mount the cpu cooler without standoff’s or holes? I have a small cpu cooler with standard screws attached (evercool). Can i just glue it on there using thermal glue?
This is frustrating as I’m simply trying to breathe some new life into a few old components and was quite happy to find a MB that will take socket p cpus... how ever did they expect anyone to mount a cooler though? Any help?
