I have recently upgraded my internet to 300mbps, so I decided to fully utilize the speed I have by switching old cat5 cable for cat5e but to no avail.
The most I get on my PC is around 100mbps on the old cat5 and the new cat5e.
While my xbox one gets almost 300mbps download just by wifi.
Any solution?

Solution
The cable is factory made, only thing I did is I cut it a bit short and made the ending myself but the cable order is identical to the 1st port
And about that auto thing I think I misguided you. I am talking about the Wired AutoConfig in services because I thought that is what you mean but I have no idea about anything else
If you terminated the end, then it could be bad, unless you have some experience in terminating ethernet cables. I would recommend you purchase a simple tester like this one -- https://www.amazon.com/Klein-VDV526-052-Scout-Junior-Tester/dp/B004CI9NRM
If you have just 1 of the 8 wires not connecting, you will get 100Mbit speed and not gigabit speed.
Is your PC connected directly to the router or is there in-wall cabling?
Is your PC network port set to AUTO ?
PC is connected thorugh a cable that is connected to the router but it leads through several walls but its still one cable, no switches and what not. The whole cable is around 20meters
And I ll have to look on that AUTO setting I'll let you know.

No wall plates or other breaks in the cable? A single cable. Is the cable factory made or did you terminate it?
The config is set on Manual
You should have the speed and duplex set to auto.

After trying different cables it is indeed an error on my end.
So it can be a fault of 1 of the cables inside? I just want to be sure about this so I can get to fixing the cable.. dont want to buy a new one and dig through half the house.

You can re-terminate the end you cut. But I would recommend watching videos and practicing on scrap cable. A tester REALLY makes this more fool-proof.

Thank you for pointing me to the obvious! I would be looking for the most complicated things instead of checking the cable... Have a good day
