No display after installing graphics card

My config is:
Amd athlon 64 x2 4600+ Mobo,
Asus M2n Mx se plus Board
1gb ram...
550W power supply..

i bought Sapphire r7 240 1GB ddr5 and fixed it in the Motherboard. Before that i uninstalled the onboard graphics drivers. Then i connected my display adapter to card and i restarted the computer.. unfortunately no display showing in monitor... light syats orange...

The fan of the graphics card is spinning.. What will be the problem friends? plz help me...

First off you do not need to delete your onboard video drivers. When you install a GPU your onboard video takes a back seat. As said, double check you plugged your monitor into the GPU and not the motherboard onboard graphics.

yes. I plugged the display cord into the GPU.

Double check you have installed the GPU correctly. Install it in the top PCIe slot - when installed correctly it will make a click sound. Then plug in the monitor cable and turn the PC back on.

I tried after reinstalling the on board graphics too... and the card is properly seated and heard a click sound too..

i inserted the graphics card in PcI-e * 16 slot... and i connected the display cable into the card VGA and i restarted... but no display...
and I connected back the display into the onboard, display comes... but the newly inserted graphics card is not showing in the device manager... please help
