[SOLVED] No display after installing GT 1030 on AMD FX 6300 PC

I recently tried to upgrade my buddies graphics card from an old AMD card, and after switching cards I got nothing after restart? Do I need to uninstall the AMD drivers and Catalyst Control, and then install the Nvidia drivers before switching cards? I have built 50 PC's over the years, and have never run into this issue.

I have not come across this first hand but have read that older motherboards (which any motherboard that supports a FX6300 is) can need a BIOS update to support newer GPU's.
