No display from gt610

I had an acer aspire xc600, I moved the hardware to a larger case to accommodate a new PSU and GPU (GEFORCE GT610). When the card is connected to the motherboard there is no display, HDMI, VGA, 610 or integrated. However, when the new card is removed the display works fine. Is this a hardware compatibility issue? If so, what cards would be safe to use?

Assuming you want it for gaming, this is your opportunity to send it back and buy a card that will actually play games, a 7750 would do it, really a 610 is just a display expansion for more ports, completely worthless for gaming.
