I have a new Framework Laptop 13 DIY build with the new 7040 mainboard, and have not be able to get anything on the display (not even the backlight), even with an external monitor in the HDMI port.

There is a known issue with 5200MT/s memory modules and this board, but the error lights I get for initialization is 11 green, followed by 1 red, which indicates failure to initialize display by the error codes.

1. Would a bad or problematic memory stick stop the eDP connector to the laptop screen and the external HDMI port from working?
2. If the backlight is not even registering, would this likely be a power connection ofr a DOA display panel?

Thanks,
Terry

1) What exactly is the known issue between that memory and the board?
1.1) Do you have said memory modules and board?
1.2) Are you experiencing similar issues as what are described in the known issue?
1.3) In answer to your question, if it's an issue with the board it could certainly do weird things.

2) It could honestly be one or both. The simplest thing would likely be to check and make sure everything is securely connected and that all cables got connected securely. With LCDs w/ backlights, there could be 2 or more cables from the LCD to the motherboard.
