No display on monitor

I recently installed a mechanical hard drive after only running with a SSD for a few months and in that time havent had any issues. Now when I boot my computer everything powers up and I get the code "A0" on the maximus if hero mobo which means no problems. But I'm still getting no display, I tried plugging the hdmi cable into the mobo instead and instill get no display. Anyone have ideas why this is happening

make sure you monitor is ok (may help use different monitor or tv)to make work onboard gpu you wanna physically remove gpu from motherboard.

I don't k ow why the monitor would be messed up I've been using it for quite some time. Also the monitor says "entering power save mode" after a few seconds when I boot it up. I'll try the removal of the gpu though

you wanna hook up monitor to your motherboard with out gpu and then power up just make sure you unplug pc from the wall and wait 5min before remmoving gpu.

I unplugged the gpu and put the hdmi into the mobo and still no output

may help removing BIOS battery for minute or two and insert back.

The bios battery is circular right?

Also what issues would that cause?

yes under the gpu .

And you are sure the monitor input is selected as hdmi, and not defaulted to dvi, since that's the cable connection used?

I've been getting the error code AE now I'm trying to find another cable to plug into the mobo and monitor to see if that's the problem but I don't know why it would be it was working earlier today
