No Display Output

I was running the technical preview for windows 10 on my desktop which expired while I was away, now when I power on my computer the fans all whir and lights come on but no output is detected. I have tested on two monitors with HDMI and VGA using both the ports on the motherboard and on the graphics card.

Specs as follows:
Asus Z77 chipset motherboard
i7-3770K
750 Ti Graphics card
8GB Ram
1TB HD
550W Corsair PSU

It worked fine before I went away but now nothing happens

No, there is no speaker but the model is p8z77-lx

When tested the onboard video ports, was the graphics card removed? If not, try removing it and testing.

That's a good idea, I have now tried this, the problem persists unfortunately

Then, for further troubleshooting, it would be good to connect a case speaker to the motherboard. This way you'd know if board and CPU do work.

Okay, I'll try and get one of those then. I have just tried plugging in the keyboard and the Capslock/Numlock lights don't come on, similarly with the mouse (which has different colour leds for each dpi setting) but all the leds are on at the same time, not looking good :/

I have since got my hands on a POST test card which I put in a free PCI slot on my board, I can't see where I should put the speaker cable on the board but the green display reads 55 51 which is a start but I don't really know how to interpret this, thanks in advance

Try borrowing a working RAM module and test each lost. See if still 55.

Thank you so much! You are my saviour, there seems to be a problem with the primary ram slot but when I put the ram stick in another slot it worked perfectly!!

No problem. Usually, this kind of issues are related to bent pins in the CPU socket.

Huh, I'm glad it was just the ram then, strange though, I hadn't used it for about two months and it worked perfectly before
