Question No display with my gpu pulgged in

Hey i guys , i just bulid my first pc but when i plugged the dvi-d cable (it's a vga to dvi-d adapter ) i had no display so i plugged in the mobo and i had the same problem
so i decided to plug a the vga cable to the mobo witout the dvi-d adapter
Guess what i worked so i don't know if i have a bad gpu or it's just the dvi-d adapter
ps: i tested also with a tv via a hdmi cable plugged in to the gpu and i had no display

Motherboard: MSI B250M PRO-VDH
Processor: INTEL I3 7100 3.9GHz
Graphics Card: MSI RX570 ARMOR OC 4G
Ram : 4v2gb ddr4 2400 team groupe
Power supply: 600 watt

Well I don't know tho I know that when I plugged the hdmi to gpu I didn't work but when I plugged it to the mobi it worked
