I placed my HDD in my PC instead of the external drive. I installed Linux and used it for a while. Then I switched back to Windows 10 Pro. Now the drive doesn't show up at all until I use Mini Tool Partition Wizard to assign it a drive letter. When I do this it shows up fine but when I go to Disk Management to Assign it a permanent letter it doesn't give me that option and doesn't show up in diskpart either. This 4TB drive has my entire media library on it so I can't just reformat it. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

After I assign it a Drive letter it does show up in the Device Manager. It does not show up in storage spaces.

Disk 0 partition 1. If I right click on the partition the only thing that pops up is Help.

What options do you have if you right click on the left side of the lower section, where it says 3725.99GB Online?
If nothing useful there then you will need to use diskpart to reformat it in GPT.

Actually he is right. The drive is larger than 2 TB so it needs to be formatted as a GPT partition, not NTFS.

Right click the area I circled. It should give you some options to either create or format the partition.
