No driver for network adapter..? How do I get my internet running?

This has likely been brought up before but I'm at a loss. I just installed Windows 8 on my brand new build. It's telling me I'm missing network adapter drivers and therefore cannot connect. How do I get the necessary drivers without internet? Seems like a vicious circle. And for those wondering, I posted this from my phone. I'm using a hardline for my computer. No WiFi. Help!!

Hi all, I have a similar situation.
I have no motherboard cd and it won't detect network adapter.
In device manager it won't even list what it is! How can I get round this please?

Post the model number of the motherboard, and we may be able to find it.

Even if windows can't identify it, going to the 'properties' section in Device Manager might show a device ID - googling this often finds the device model.

Connect your phone to your computer with usb and go in settings and enable usb tethering
this way you can use your phone's internet on pc and get the drivers for your network card

Usually you'll need drivers for the phone to do that, which turns into a bit of a catch-22.
