No Ethernet lights on technicolor modem

Brand new Comcast Technicolor modem and the lights on the Ethernet ports never come on, blink, or anything. Nor can I use an Ethernet cable to the iMac, it constantly says no network found. Is the modem a dud?

Quite possible. I'd suggest trying a different ethernet cable, different port, and different PC though.

Thanks. It was the PC after all. We had an electric storm recently and looks like a jolt came through the cable line through the the modem, the router, and into the PC frying the pc's Ethernet port. At least the pic didn't fry. Oh well. Time to get a new surge protector.
