So I just upgraded my computer with a new Abit KT7A Mobo and a AMD 1.4Ghz CPU. Everything is working great except for the darn thing will not recognize my Best Data 56F ISA modem. My old Abit Mobo had two ISA slots which gave it Com 1-4 (i think that's what it did) and had no problems recognizing the modem under COM 4 but my new Mobo only has COM 1 and COM2 available and no free IRQs. Aren't those COM port specifically for things such as modems? So I set the jumpers on the modem to either COM 1 IRQ 4 or COM 2 IRQ 3 and I get a resource conflict everytime I boot up and Win 98 still does not recognize the modem. The Troubleshooting guide on the BestData web site says to free up some resources but i can't figure out how or even which ones if i knew. What do I do? I've tried everything I can think of. The only other cards I have in there are a SB PCI 128 sound card and a Viper 770 AGP video card
