Hey guys, I've just started building a new computer and having a really weird issue.

When I plug in the computer to the power everything turns on and fans start spinning on everything including the GFX.

But when I connect a cable to the graphics card, nothing happens?

I've tried to remove the card and use onboard output and still no results, any suggestions?

Specs are:
H170-PLUS ASUS Motherboard
LGA1151 i7 6700K Processor
nVidia GTX 970 GFX
Coolermaster 212X CPU Fan
DDR4 G.Skill Ripjaws 32gb RAM
GX750 PSU

Solution

Found out the problem.. For some reason, the BIOS wasn't beeping, but when I plugged it into another monitor it made a beeping sound with no display.
So I ended up plugging it back into my monitor and it worked?
Really weird problem but in the end it ended up working and that's all that matters I suppose.

Check if your monitor is in the correct output. So if your using a dvi cable make sure monitor is on dvi mode or if your using hdmi make sure it is on hdmi mode.

No this doesn't seem to be the problem. The screen is working fine on my other computer.

When plugged in, the GFX is plugged in properly and has both a 6+2 and 6 pin connected into appropriate ports.

Other than that, I can't even get the onboard graphics running.

A VGA cable, and the monitor is on the VGA setting.

Use the DVI from your main comps monitor onto your 970 and see if everything is working. It could be your other monitors vga port not working. That was the case for me.

I've already tried that, and it didn't work.

Yes, so currently ive got my 970 plugged in, working all the lights are on, just no output using my DVI cable that works. I've tried taking it out and using my onboard interface and still no results.

I would just try putting the 970 in ur main computer and see if it works, other than that im no expert at this stuff. My problem was only the modes on the monitor.
