No HDMI, New Build

Good afternoon all,

So I'm having an issue pushing video to my freshly built PC. My monitor turns on and says no HDMI signal detected. Specs are:
Asus Strix Z270E
I7 7700k
Asus Strix 1080
Corsair Vengeance RGB 16GB
Corsair H100I cooler
Asus VZ239 monitor

I boot the pc, all fans spin, all light illuminate. There are no flashing led's or beeps coming from the desktop.
I have verified the cable and monitor both work by plugging them into my laptop. I have tried plugging the HDMI cable into both ports on the gpu as well as the motherboard. What gives? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Remove the gpu, plug hdmi into mobo, then try to boot. If it works, either have a dead gpu or psu not outputting enough juice to run the card.

What psu?

Probably have to plug a mobo speaker in to get beeps. Most boards don't come with one.

It was a EVGA 850 G2. I misread the manual stating that the CPU 12v was optional. Apparently it is not. I installed the cable and it fixed the problem. Thank you for your time posting a reply.
